Wine Club Tech Sheet MARCH

March – Welcome Spring

Spring in the vineyard is a time of renewal and rebirth, when the vines reawaken from winter dormancy. It's also a time of hard work and preparation for the upcoming harvest.

O by Claude Vialade – 100% Pinot Noir - Certified Organic

France, Languedoc Roussillon, Vin de Pays D'Oc

Estate

The properties chosen for this wine represent the dynamism initiated by Auriol in the development of organic viticulture and the promotion of organic wines. The vineyards border the Mediterranean coastline between the Cevennes and the Camargue. They benefit from a hot and dry climate, which favors the development of aromas during the ripening process, allowing for the elaboration of lavishly expressive wines.

Tasting Notes

Attractive ruby-red color, scents of blackcurrant, black cherries and roasted coffee beans. Supple and delicate oak on the palate.

Margarett's Vineyard - Romer Red

70% Zinfandel, 22% Syrah, 8% Petite Sirah

California, Mendocino County

History

Margarett Romer Parducci is the inspiration for this collection of wines. She has always been a hands-on, hard-working woman who is deeply connected to her environment and the outdoors. A sheep rancher for 4 decades, she managed to carve out her own identity as she supported her husband, John Parducci’s life-long winemaking career.

Margarett's wines are now made by her grandson Rich Parducci of McNab Ridge Winery. He continues their family tradition of extraordinary wines to be enjoyed with family and friends. Both of Rich's grandparents’ influence is evident in the wines and small family winery in Mendocino County.

Tasting notes

This smooth dry red wine blend combines three varietals to create a richly colored wine with a distinct cherry-raspberry character. With a juicy mouthfeel, Romer Red is a well-rounded wine with berry flavors and spicy oak flavors.

Tasting Notes

Intense bright yellow color with a pleasant bouquet of tropical fruit and hints of spice. The aromas of white peach and pear give way to a voluminous finish on the palate.

Domaine des Nouelles - Rose d'Anjou

95% Grolleau, 5% Cabernet Franc

France, Loire Valley, Rose d’Anjou

Estate

This family-owned estate has produced top wines within the Loire Valley for generations. Their vineyard of Grolleau Noir grapes is situated on a hillside with carboniferous schist soil.  This type of soil forces the roots to penetrate as far as eight meters deep in search of hydration. Along the way, minerals are absorbed which lend to the ‘mineral notes’ in the wine.  Grapes grown in such soil are known to produce low yields of small grapes with thick skins and in turn have a high concentration of flavors, colors, acidity and tannins.

Tasting notes

Rosé d'Anjou is a round and fruity wine, ideal all day long. It is a medium dry wine which can be served with exotic and spicy dishes.
